>Happy Halloween!

>Hope you all had a spook-tastic and safe Halloween weekend!

I’m a huge fan of fall weddings. I’m also a big fan of Halloween in general. This time of year is filled with such rich colors. It makes me want to take pictures everywhere I go. If you’re the type who enjoys Halloween to the point of making it you’re wedding theme, great! However, proceed with caution, as some themed weddings seem to go a little overboard from time to time. Actually, it’s quite easy to do so. Picking out those rich colors can lead to quite an overly dark wedding. It’s best to pick three colors and incorporate them sparingly.

There are certainly ways to keep things looking bright and fresh. A cream color or off white looks absolutely lovely with an eggplant purple or a burnt orange accent. Colorful linens are also great, but make sure that you’re not going to over do it by adding an equally as colorful centerpiece. That pricey piece will certainly be lost against the linens of the table. Simple is elegant and three key colors are the way to go.

Keep in mind, you may love the The Nightmare Before Christmas, but heavens knows you don’t want to look like anything involving a nightmare. Start off very simple and work your way from there. If you have your heart set on a Gothic wedding, then please don’t let me hold you back from pursuing that dream. If you DO feel that that is the only type of wedding for you, perhaps you could focus on a look that ends up a bit more old fashion Gothic. Think of a more Edwardian look. In fact, think Dita Von Tess on her wedding day. Her Gone with the Wind inspired dress was so gorgeous and unique, I considered making one for myself!
