Saving the overly-allergic world by means of silk floral design, one wedding party at a time
>Free Wedding Gowns for Military Personnel
The Brides Across America program was founded by Heidi Janson in 2007. The event has grown from offering fifty free wedding gowns in Ms. Janson’s boutique during the first year to giving away over 5,000 gowns. Brides Across America is part of Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network and has teamed up with Smiles Across the Miles.
The wedding dresses offered in the program are typically samples and overstocks and vary in worth from approximately $500 to $3,000. Sizes range from 4 to 22 and are provided on a first come, first serve basis for qualifying brides-to-be.
In order to qualify for the Brides Across America free wedding gown event, the bride or fiancé of the bride must have been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Qatar within the last five years. The bride must present a copy of deployment papers stating the time and location of deployment for either the bride or fiancé. Couples who had a civil ceremony who wish to have a formal wedding can still qualify for the Brides Across America free wedding gown.
Find details listing the participating bridal salons at the Brides Across America web site. Dates for the event vary according to location, but most fittings are on either November 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Those who wish to donate a clean bridal gown that is not more than three years old may find details at the Brides Across America web site as well.
