I personally think that wedding cakes tend to be overly elaborate and quite bland in taste. The use of fondant normally has a lot to do with the bad taste. It may look pretty, but it’s not very appetizing. I don’t see why couples don’t just save their money and buy a cake that is not only simply adorable, but also delicious to eat! The fact of the matter is, you are only going to be displaying one cake for your guests to actually see. The cake that should be served to the guests can be a pre-cut sheet cake (which will all take place in a kitchen out of everyone’s sight). Gigantic cakes involving staircases and fountains are bit dramatic…..don’t you think?
