Pretty Pretty Princess

I don’t know about you guys, but there were certain childhood games that really made my day. ‘Mall Madness’ was by far the best thing since sliced bread. ‘Pretty Pretty Princess’ was certainly a close second. I was all about the bling, even as a tot. I also remember that my mother use to take us to a place called ‘Let’s Dress Up’, which was pretty much a storefront sized party room for tea drinking, cake eating, ball gown wearing birthday parties. So….basically….Heaven for a little girl.

Nowadays, I find myself longing to dress in a new ball gown daily. Is that normal? I blame Tumblr for putting all these fancy ideas in my head. I’m certain that you can all agree with me, that if given the opportunity (and the proper dress size), you would LOVE to try these gorgeous gowns on and parade around your neighborhood for a few hours.

Let’s start with this glamorous number. Tea time would surely happen on a daily basis if I owned this Dior gown. I would also, more than likely, feel the need to perform a few ‘My Fair Lady’ songs while I’m at it.

Next up…Marchesa. Do I even need to say anything else. Look at this dress!!!

I had to dress up like an ugly yellow duck for a 1st grade tap recital one time and I hated every minute of it. Now, if someone had put me in this feathery Dior dress for the recital….I would have been the GREATEST tap dancing duck on that stage. Seriously, Savion Glover and I would have inevitably joined forces. I’m certain of it.

When I first saw this Giambattista and Valli gown, I immediately thought of ‘Back to The Future’. The ruffles are out of control….in the best way possible.

How could you possibly go wrong in an Alexander McQueen dress? I’ll answer that. You can’t.

Ok…I can’t say that Katy Perry’s hair is doing anything for me, but when she showed up in this STUNNING blue Elie Saab dress to the Grammys, I just about fainted. LOVE. The reason I loved it so much was because I felt like it had such a vintage Marilyn Monroe feel to it! To me, it looked similar to Marilyn’s ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress. Naturally, I would love to play dress up in both of them.

Last, but certainly not least…. I just can’t get enough mustard yellow in my life. This Oscar De La Renta dress is only making me want dance around a ballroom as if I were a Disney princess.

If anyone needs me, I’m going to be playing dress up and reliving my childhood for the next week. Call me if you want to come over for a tea party!
