What a wedding! Jodie & Jordan are dear friends of mine and I was OVER THE MOON when they asked me to not only make their floral arrangements for their big day, but to also help plan AND be part of the wedding party! I was beside myself with excitement.
Jodie and I had met while working together and we instantly hit it off! When she met Jordan, I had a feeling that he was the perfect catch for her. She would unknowingly go into the flirty voice when she mentioned him. It was adorable. To think that all of those girl talks would one day lead up to to this gorgeous wedding, makes my heart so happy. Jodie & Jordan chose to host their wedding in the Newberry Library in Chicago, IL. The location could not have been more perfect for the couple who began their relationship after meeting at a book club.
While the silk flowers were finished and ready months in advance, I was testing the waters with Event planning and this was my first major go at it. Oddly enough, I was far from nervous. I was actually super sick on the day of the wedding. Thank God Jodie decided to hire someone to do my hair and put makeup on my germy mug! No one noticed (hopefully). All in all, I was so happy with the way things turned out. The place looked amazing, Colin Lyons Photography rocked out some outstanding photos, the catering company was awesome to work with, the food was fantastic, the DJ kept the party going strong all through the night, and most of all…. the bride & groom were happy. It was their day…. and it was AWESOME!
The love was apparent from the beginning, but that library was beaming with love on November 23rd 2013.
Here’s to great friends, wonderful memories, and endless years of happiness to Jodie & Jordan!
